The following pictures and descriptions courtesy of Jan Herrbach!
(These files range from 120k to 200k. They'll take a minute to download.
Image 01--Flamenco Dancer by IILG member Takeshi Sato from Japan. Won 1st place and Best In Category (Masters). This is heavily embossed, and the strings on the front of her top were lifted in a couple of areas, and the corners of her top were also lifted from the leather.
Image 03--Front view of a heavily embossed bear done by Mr. Jan Schoonover. This won a 1st place (Masters). A note below the picture stated that this was ONE piece of leather. The next two pictures will show even more detail on this bear.
Image 04--Side view of bear. Look at the depth that he gets in his embossing.
Image 05--Bear from "down under". Looking up into his nostrils and mouth. Again, this is ONE PIECE of leather. Look at the details in the teeth and mouth.
Image 06--IILG member Jonathan Hahn's 1st place entry. This is the first year Jonathan entered a picture in the Master's category. He also won a 2nd place with his lion (Master's).
Image 07--IILG member Paul Krause's 1st place entry of the Green Man. (First time he entered something, I believe!)
Image 08--IILG member Gary Howard's picture that won a 3rd place.
Image 09--1st place, Best in Category, and Best in Show (Open) done by
saddle maker Chris Lieber, who lives close to Robb Barr. This picture of a horse, rider, and his dog was heavily embossed.
Image 10--Another embossed picture done by Jan Schoonover of a hunting dog.
Image 14--2nd place entry by Mr. Sato. This is called, "Looking Back", and is displayed with a mirror behind it to show the golden eagle head on the opposite side of this embossed head. Of course, the bald eagle is what you see on the front side. This is one piece of leather which is filled and the feathers lifted, with a post that sticks into the driftwood base. The bottom of the feather is separated so one side is on either side of the base.
Image 15--Roz Kaohn's 1st place entry, Best In Category, and Best in Show (Masters). This rear/side view shows the luggage on the top and rear of the stagecoach, the driver, and man with a shotgun. Notice the passenger that is falling out of the door. He is holding a flask with the booze spilling out of it. The scrub grass is also made of leather. (The flashlight was used to see the details inside. By the end of the show, the batteries were dead!)
Image 16--More details of the stagecoach from a side view. Notice the details in the harness and body of the stagecoach. Now, you can see the dress of a passenger inside the coach.
